Renaissance of the Ruins

At the opening of the 2010 Venice Architecture Biennale, the NAi and Volume organised a debate called Renaissance of the Ruins. Rem Koolhaas, Mark Wigley, Jeffrey Inaba and Arjen Oosterman shared ideas on how to deal with emptiness and vacancy as a cultural and design challenge. Elma and Kristian presented the Schieblock as an example of a successful transformation strategy.
